There was a girl who loved to dance
Anytime she was given the chance
But one day she tripped
And her tendon ripped
What a dire circumstance!
Stealthy, solitary, sad.
Dark blue and mysterious eyes.
Sleek, spotted, soft fur.
Walking over a lush green meadow
to play with the dandelions,
its only friends.
Then chewing their heads off
and slowly walking away towards the lake.
Taking a deep drink,
causing the clear water to ripple.
Making its way back to the
auburn colored forest,
tail swishing, and disappearing.
Silent as death…
Until the cool breeze sends
A wave of rustling leaves
to the snow covered blue mountains,
up, up, and up…
then, gone.
Night is when you turn out the light
Darkness enclosing every space
And nothing but your eyes shine bright
Night is your feet rustling your bed sheets
And mysterious hands caressing your face
And looking for something that you need
but can’t find
Night is where voices sing near your bed
The voices you can’t get out of your head
Night is the sound of creaking
The sound of someone playing the piano
And the sound of your own breathing
Night is when you start to wait for
magical things, real or not
to happen to you.
Whether its a dream or a nightmare
Or strange noises coming from the stairs.
Night can be beautiful, peaceful, serene
scary, nasty, horrific and mean
There might be surprises for tonight
But you’ll never know what things might happen
until you turn out
the light.
A penguin cute and cuddly, waddles over the ice to me.
Its little arms flip and flap, and makes me want to laugh and clap.
But suddenly it takes a dive, down into the cold below.
I hope that it is still doing fine, and will come up to let me know.
I wait till night darkens the sky. I’m sad I couldn’t get to say goodbye.
As I walk across your grainy path,
shells, bodies, glass and debris,
washed ashore by your now calm waves,
brush against my small feet.
As I looked out at your blue, green body
reflecting the hot sun and the clear sky,
I wonder how and still ponder why
someone out there in a boat could die
of thirst in an endless world of water.
As I sit on your burning hot sand
and watch you moving to and fro,
I thought of all who enjoyed your fresh wet touch
and all the people you hurt so much.
As I feel your salty sea breeze
and feel your warm sunshine kiss my face
I remember how you forced out every trace
of life from those who swam in your depths.
All the people loved your summer glow, your waves and flow.
Yet you swallow up your lovers and when they’re dead you let them go.
I love the sun, the sky;
The sweat and toil as summer goes by,
But when winter nears the weather cools,
And then all the swimming pools
Shut and turn away the kids who sigh.
My original photo taken during summer holiday in Alcaidesa, Southern Spain…Oh how I long to go back!
Auburn and yellow leaves drift onto the street,
The end of a summer that was hot and sweet.
Windy breezes cool with each passing day,
and the foliage flickers flutter, far away…
An original photo I took of the trees while hiking and exploring in Banff National Park, Canada.
None accept a reduction of true love.
Here is my deduction for what is love?
The heart is a throne, and mirror of life.
A spark may ignite, turns dark into light.
This fire will burn as bright as it heals,
Higher it reaches and deeper it feels.
Love causes existence, love is the truth,
Love is a mystery, feeling, and proof.
Love is the reason why lovers’ hands clasp.
Love is worth infinite hardships to grasp.
Love is the place where forever resides –
For lovers connect beyond timeless skies.
Though love is a start it can sometimes end,
For love may mean broken hearts cannot mend.
Inspired by Sonnet 43 by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, a favorite of mine since I came across it in high school.
Why do I love you? Here is my deduction…
I love you for your smile and musical insight,
Your soulful speech and your hugs that would be tight.
For the way you look at me it is natural seduction!
And don’t forget our eyebrow discussion.
I love you for your imgur curiosity everyday,
Your quiet strength and the funny things you say.
I love you freely as the light shines during day.
I love you purely like how the violin you play.
I love you with a passion I’ll never lose.
